AT THE EDGE OF LIGHT
The line at the edge of light displays the contrast between light and shadow.
This boundary, where brilliance meets void, is the point at which otherwise indiscernible patterns exist.
The visual voice of a black and white image has no less volume just because it lacks color. It’s the lack of color which can force the viewer to see contrast, shape, and patterns, allowing the image’s voice to have depth and meaning that would otherwise be hidden by color.
The Edge of Light is a collection of images which explores the distinctions created by the play of light, shadow, and patterns. It’s my hope that this body of work will move you from simply observing images to contemplating images in a more meditative way.
